Brooklyn sights & Dyker Heights

After having breakfast at the hotel yesterday, today we wanted to eat authentically at a diner. From the cable car, we spotted a fitting place not far from the East River. 🥞🥓🍳

A delicious start to the day and, above all, enough energy to tackle everything.

First, we strolled to Grand Central Station and watched the anthill of people from the platform.

Next, we of course visited the obligatory Christmas market before we walked back north on 6th Avenue.

Passed by the Christmas tree 🎄, bought a little chocolate here, and casually sipped a coffee there. Just the usual things you do in New York. Then we quickly made our way to Carnegie Hall (unfortunately under construction).

After some searching, we managed to find the entrance to the subway 🔍 and headed 'down' to Manhattan. We wanted to stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. Coincidentally, there was even a sunset at that moment. 🌆 The impressions were unique, the skyline against the red-orange sky, simply breathtaking.

Upon arriving in Brooklyn, we enjoyed some delicious 🍔 🍔 and 🍺 at the Time Out Market.

Outside, we were treated to a dreamy view of the NYC skyline.😍

Fortunately, we had to 'live' with that view for quite a while until we reached the subway station in Brooklyn. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

To see the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights in Brooklyn, we had to take the subway back for quite a distance. 🚇 But it was truly worth it. The residents fully embrace the Christmas lighting theme and view the whole thing as a competition. 🏆 Competition boosts business.

It's just crazy, but also one of a kind.😯😮

After thoroughly exploring the neighborhood, we took the 🚇 back towards Manhattan for an hour and finally reached 'our' Roosevelt Island.

Tomorrow, we plan to visit Central Park again, and for Christmas Eve, we are heading to the Spectacular Christmas Show at Radio City Hall at 8 PM. 🤩

There's still so much to experience.
