Welcome to the frozen🥶 jungle

Well-rested and full of energy, we woke up with a view of the Queensboro Bridge (King of Queens fans, pay attention).

And to top it off, a bright blue sky🤩.

But a glance at the phone revealed that today is a day for layering. Minus 9 degrees and a bit of wind chill🥶.

From 'our' Roosevelt Island, of course, we didn't take the metro but instead stylishly crossed over to Manhattan via the cable car over the East River. Really cool.😎

A short walk and we found ourselves at the southern end of Central Park. So off we went to 5th Avenue and into the hustle and bustle.

During the day, you can only catch a glimpse of the spectacle, but just the skyscrapers are overwhelming.

Not far from Rockefeller Center, we saw 'it' for the first time. The Christmas Tree😃

Luckily, you can approach it from two sides, so plenty of opportunities for photos from every angle. Fortunately, it wasn't too crowded.

We then continued towards Lower Manhattan and slowly felt hunger setting in. The cold saps your energy.😬

So we headed into the Broome Street Bar for burgers and fries. That really hits the spot for hunger. Plus a delicious New York IPA.😋

We continued on to Ground Zero and found our hotel from last time again. 👌

It slowly got darker and a bit colder, and we cheerfully hopped back and forth between 5th, 6th, and 7th Avenue, like grasshoppers.

The darker it got, the more impressive the city became. Although we had expected even more Christmas decorations.

But the atmosphere is just fantastic. We also stopped by 2 Christmas markets at Union Square and Bryant Park on our way before arriving at the 'star of the evening,' the illuminated Christmas Tree, of course with ice skaters in front of it or underneath it.🎄🎅🤶🥰

We took plenty of photos again.

Next, we went to Times Square, where not only the trees were 'burning.'

Incredible, the lights, the hustle and bustle, really a different world.

Before heading home, we stopped by Smash Burger and then it was back to our cable car🚡. Riding across the river at night is not to be missed🥰.

At 12:30 AM, we then fell into bed frozen to the bone.

A fantastic start!
