The first real day
First day in the cold

As I'm slowly going stir crazy, I braved the weather and bundled up warmly. Off I went on foot, spoiler: after hours of sightseeing, I'm completely worn out. First, I went to Hagley Park; it was so beautiful, everything was green but also had a hint of autumn. It looked really lovely, then I headed towards the botanic gardens (though I didn’t go in) and then there was the Rose Garden where I took a little stroll. Next, I went into the city to the Art Centre, which was a bit confusing because more and more buildings kept appearing, though some were quite a distance away, and they all had similar names, but everything was so beautiful. The buildings looked fantastic, and inside there were art exhibitions, and the best part: I didn’t have to pay a single cent for admission. After visiting several buildings, I stopped by Cathedral Square, which is definitely a must-see. There you can see (more or less) the cathedral that was destroyed in the 2011 earthquake. That's when I realized I urgently needed something to drink, so I quickly stopped by the supermarket and grabbed some snacks. The last stop was New Regent Street. It's also a must to see a tram passing through there. It’s very cute, and you can sit in the cafes while the tram passes right by, giving off a bit of the train street vibes from Hanoi, just not quite as chaotic and dangerous. Then I walked back, passing all the street art, to the hostel for a little pick-me-up, enjoying my last wrap. So you know, it’s time to chill now, sightseeing is tiring.
