Today I really slept in, well until 10 when the "house cleaning" arrived right on time to vacuum. First, I went to the Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial, which was sad but also interesting. The names of those who died in the earthquake are written on the wall. Then I continued to the Riverside Market, where there were food stalls next to each other on the ground floor, and upstairs there were restaurants and even more seating areas above. There was everything, truly everything one could want to eat. And who would have thought (not me) that my only wish was: rice, so I had excellent fried rice. Such a huge portion that I can eat it for the next 3 days. Strengthened, I then went through the rain to the Canterbury Museum. Here too, entry is free, donations are welcome. There were various exhibitions and galleries, all quite interesting. Oh, on the way, I also walked over the Bridge of Remembrance. After that, I needed a break, so I went to the Turanga Library and wow. I had never been in such a cool library before. I don't like kids, but there were so many cool craft corners and creative spaces for them (I don't understand why they're only for kids, but okay) and also pianos with headphones where you could play. Computers and so many cool seating options everywhere. All the books you could imagine. On the 4th floor, there was a terrace with a bit of a view over Christchurch. So I spent some time there. Then I only went into a second-hand store hoping for warm outdoor clothing, but it was mostly brands and expensive everyday clothes. So I went back home and had another portion of rice, then it was time to relax on the couch and watch a series.
