Finally Kyoto...the first day in the ancient capital started here with a proper Japanese breakfast..
Taking the train, we first headed out of the city to the bamboo forest..Very impressive..Some species of bamboo grow 1 meter per day..I wouldn't want to fall asleep in the woods 😄..then through Arashiyama Park past the Moonbridge and straight back into the city on the purple train for lunch.
Running Sushi V2.0 at Kura Sushi..below a normal conveyor belt and above sushi comes at Shinkansen speed which you ordered beforehand on the tablet. Here, they even had fugu, which I of course tried..🤪...Tea can also be prepared at the table.
After being strengthened, we continued to the Kinkaku-ji Temple. A golden pavilion from the 14th century, which was once built by a shogun and became a Zen temple after his death.
We took the purple train back to the city to explore the Geisha district...we didn’t see any Geishas, though...and it’s also frowned upon to photograph them.
We ended today's sightseeing with a little stroll around the city and then washing clothes at the hotel...because with daily temperatures of 32 degrees, one sweats quite a bit....
