Today was supposed to be about making distance. Although we still have 11 days, we want to take the long Balkan route back through Albania, Montenegro, and Croatia and not rush.

So we headed up the coastal road towards Corinth and then towards Patras. We took the ferry again to cross from the Peloponnese (we will return) to the central Greek mainland.

Puzzle for Advanced Players

Boarding was quite a struggle. Since the queue with trucks and other vehicles was very long, some, especially locals, thought they could influence the boarding by making noise and waving banknotes, what a chaos🤣

After disembarking, we drove through a very heavy rain shower

In the Midst

to Menidi, our campsite for today (https://park4night.com/de/lieu/72429/open/) right by the sea (Ambracian Gulf).

We spent the evening enjoying a wonderful sunset and dinner at a very lovely tavern.

By the way, today was also the day for animal encounters and sightings. I had to suddenly swerve to avoid a rather large viper on the coastal road to Corinth. Then we spotted a sea turtle during the crossing to Antirrio.

Bernd discovered a sea turtle

And then the kicker, right in the middle of the highway a tortoise was running, it ran like Lola.🤣
