With images in mind of demonstrators in Barcelona, Mallorca, Venice, or on Greek islands protesting against the threat to their homeland from overtourism, I want to shout to all tourists: Come to Latvia!
Peace by the lake instead of Ballermann! Compost toilet instead of wellness hotel! Sitting under apple trees instead of tourist animation!
Here, there's undertourism and the locals are happy when you come. Is there anything more beautiful in life than being wanted?
