When I left 5 weeks ago, I knew that on such a long route it would sometimes rain. However, I didn't expect to manage 30 stages without rain and with a lot of sunshine. With my 31st stage, this phase has now been interrupted, and tomorrow the weather may continue as it has been so far. ☀️
The hotel from yesterday was a real stroke of luck. For a very reasonable price, I received comfort and luxury. The associated restaurant was excellent too! I only had a Polish sour soup with sausages and egg, as well as a salad. Both were exquisite, and today's breakfast, which was included in the reasonable price, impressed me.
Unfortunately, I had to move on, as I want to arrive in Prague by Wednesday at the latest. When I set off, it was drizzling lightly, and I was hopeful that I would see the sun later on, which did not happen. Directly in front of the hotel, there was a national road. Today, however, it was free of trucks and had little traffic. Thus, my start was stress-free, and soon there was even a bike lane.
In the sky, I soon saw blue patches between the clouds, although they were not in my direction. The view ahead showed approaching, low-hanging clouds with rain. So I took a short break, and then I continued with renewed confidence.
The phone with Komoot, which showed me the map, often had to be in my pocket, as the drops always gave false signals. Due to the wind and rain, I couldn't hear the announcements well. Thus, it happened that I briefly rode in the wrong direction twice.
For the same reason, I couldn't take any photos. The first spot with loose ground would have been particularly worth capturing. Fortunately, this very sandy section was not very long, but I still had to push for a while to move on.
Then there were also longer rain-free periods during which my clothes could dry. During these times, I also took my breaks.
It was only after almost 40 kilometers that I booked my accommodation. At that point, I was sure I would reach it, and on the other hand, I had no desire to continue in this weather.
Since there is neither anything to eat here, nor a restaurant or shop nearby, I needed to do some shopping. For this evening and tomorrow's lunch.
The last 20 kilometers I enjoyed a bit of rain again, which allowed me to arrive at my accommodation damp but warm.
