As hoped and predicted, today was another beautiful and sunny day. Although some clouds appeared later, I refer to them as fair-weather clouds. The temperature was also very pleasant.
Fundamentally, my journey is heading southwest. However, Komoot sends me in the opposite direction. What was going on? In the next town, the road makes a big curve; after that, my geography was correct again. It started very pleasantly on side roads with little traffic. Suddenly, however, I found myself on a federal highway, which was not indicated as such by Komoot. But as there was a nice shoulder for a long stretch, I felt comfortable and safe. Later, that changed when suddenly much more traffic appeared. I looked for an alternative on the map. I found one in the form of forest paths and a considerable detour. Nevertheless, I felt good here and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
But soon Wroclaw, or in German, Breslau, came into view. Another Polish metropolis that I had to cross. For what felt like two hours, I struggled through the city, much like before, with great concentration and stress. Whenever possible, I joined other cyclists who know the city better than I do. In particular, those who deliver food are quite knowledgeable. And so, I eventually reached the end of this enormous city, which I had not even known by name before.
When it finally became rural again, there were a few spots with loose ground, which were sometimes very difficult for me to navigate. The heavy e-bike and the considerable luggage made balancing not any easier.
For the sake of convenience, I decided to stay in a hotel that is directly on my route. With just a few kilometers of detour, I could have stayed in a castle again. Having exceeded the Komoot forecast by five kilometers, I had enough, especially since I would have to ride part of that distance back again tomorrow.
