Day 2

Published: 04.08.2024

After sleeping for about 12 hours, I felt better again😅 In the morning, I first went for a run and explored the area here.

It is partly very shocking to see the conditions in which the locals live. Broken houses, many garbage dumps near the houses, excessively many emaciated street dogs, chickens, cows, and cats all roaming freely. In between, children playing in the dirt..

I then walked to a small supermarket and bought some fruits. Yes, the mango was not ripe yet😅 (see picture) but the papaya and dragon fruit were very tasty😋

After that, I returned to process the impressions I had. I then got everything set up, and my credit card works now too😅

In the afternoon, I took the scooter and visited Lea and David (friends from Weingarten). It was actually only 30km, but the travel time was 1 hour and 30 minutes one way😅 it was definitely a good practice for driving here. There, I was able to swim in the pool and we ordered pizza (I know it's unusual but I’m still a bit cautious with the food here)

The traffic is very interesting, to say the least😅  the important thing is actually not to follow the rules, just accelerate and honk, then you’re doing everything right😂 I believe besides driving on the left, there are no rules at all😂 It's fascinating how it works, but it does, and you get used to it very quickly.

In the evening, I drove back for 1 hour and 30 minutes. And it is clear that it’s more fun in the city than in the residential area😅
