On Tuesday evening, the three of us sat under the roof of the tavern across the street, which had already closed. In the middle, a tealight (replacement for fire). The highlight of the conversation was Jürgen's invention of his mobile outdoor shower. Later, he demonstrated it to us. We laughed tears. In the morning, we finally said goodbye to Birgit and Thomas. They are heading home with a stop at Lake Garda. We went to the ferry port in Gythio and soon the crossing to Crete began. Petrus or Zeus, whoever, was with us, hardly any waves, calm sea = no filled bags. Thanks for that.
Arriving in Kissamos around 11:00 pm, we only drove a short distance to the next overnight spot. This morning Jürgen rode with us to the parking lot of Balos Beach. It was about 10 km of gravel road along a beautiful coastline, so beautiful that I got out after about 2 km and walked the rest. After the parking lot, everyone has to walk another 2 km. Down there we met again. Balos Beach is a sky-blue lagoon with a Caribbean flair. Beautiful to look at, but precisely because it is, there are also many two-legged creatures wandering around there.
Today we made a young girl happy. That really pleased us. Her drone had crashed and she had lost connection with it. Her tracking didn't work. That's where Mr. Garmin came to the rescue. Burki quickly transferred the GPS data and we walked through the maquis and rocky terrain, steep towards a cliff. Leonie was meanwhile searching somewhere else. I walked around Burki and he roughly indicated where it should be. Boom, I saw the gray drone lying in the undergrowth. Back on the path, we saw Leonie running down from the upper slope. I waved to her with the drone in my hand. Relief and joy were written all over her face. We had a lot of fun searching, a win-win situation, so to speak.
Once again, we found a nice parking spot. Burki delights Jürgen with Deep Purple, we talk about life, in the meantime Jürgen falls off the chair, that's life. The bright full moon fits wonderfully with tonight.
