Early morning wakes us up, and we head out into the thick fog towards Walvis Bay (Whale Bay) for our Combi Tour today 🛥🚗
First, we go out to sea with our (almost) private captain. On the way to Pelican Point, we can already admire some Cape fur seals. Once we arrive, we're surrounded by seals. Further out on the open sea, we also spot dolphins and the absolute highlight 🥳 a humpback whale 🐋, and it's right next to us 😱 An intimate experience for all our senses! You can’t even imagine how bad its breath smells 🙊 the giant almost vomited over the railing 🤢
Then we quickly head back to land and continue on to Sandwich Harbour (where the sand dunes meet the Atlantic).
Our guide Bernt safely drives us out to the dunes with breathtaking hotspots. Passing by numerous flamingos 🦩 and the salt pans, he casually shows us a Palmatogecko on the way to Sandwich Harbour, one of the Little 5 in Namibia.
Off-roading up and down through the dune landscape, we enjoy a snack in great spirits until it's time to head back.
