Next stop: Da Lat! Sick in the mountains

Published: 01.05.2019

From Mui Ne we went to the mountains in Da Lat early in the morning after a hasty breakfast (the bus arrived as we were coming down the stairs from our room). On the way, we noticed that it was getting cooler...

The road was very adventurous and looked accordingly on the map.

On this winding route, we were shaken from left to right by the bus :-)

But we were rewarded with wonderful views of the changing landscape.

Arriving at the 'Europe Town Hostel and Bar', we immediately got the nicest room! ;-)

Thea had always wished for a room like this, and Clemens had specifically asked not to get it when booking! Oh well, you can close your eyes when sleeping ;-)

We couldn't get another room because the hostel was fully booked due to the upcoming Vietnamese holidays.

We then went outside and were positively surprised: clean city, little traffic, and many smiling people... we immediately liked it there.

We were planning to do a canyoning tour the next day, but Thea woke up and immediately got sick!

So we had to cancel the tour and the first thing we did was go to the pharmacy. We bought blue pills (Ibu 600) and pink pills (for cold and earache).

So we spent the next few days at the hostel, playing billiards, eating soup in the evenings, and drinking lots of tea.
This was our favorite soup stand: we got to eat here 3 times :-)

We tried some delicious snacks at the nearby night market one evening.

The next day, Thea was already feeling better, so we rented a scooter and drove around a bit.

We visited a waterfall that spans several levels. You can take a summer toboggan run down to the waterfall, then continue by cable car to the next level, and finally take an elevator DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE...

But see for yourself:

But there were also some other attractions =))))

Banana :-) And they weren

we continued to the temple with a golden giant Buddha sitting above the city.

In the evening, we went to the 'Crazy House'... Yes, it was really crazy... There was something to see everywhere!

On our way back, we noticed how the city was filling up, because the holidays had also begun here - Victory over the USA and Independence Day on 30.04./01.05.

Even on our departure day, when we were picked up an hour later, the traffic almost came to a standstill... Dozens of police officers on the roads, but we still made it to Nha Trang...

What we experienced there will be in the next blog!

Warmest greetings and have a great weekend!

Thea & Clem
