We wake up and immediately feel the gentle rocking....oh dear, it's 6:05 AM and someone had to shout something in Italian through the 'campsite'. Oh man, that was a bit early, so we closed our eyes again and were rocked back into a light slumber....until shortly after 7:00 AM. Father and child had to shout through the whole cabin, which certainly woke more than just us. The morning went by without any special incidents, from the motorhome to the sun deck – and if you know it, the walk is very short – to the motorhome for coffee while we waited to dock in Patras. It ended up going faster than we expected. The bridge to the mainland came into view and shortly thereafter, the ferry docked.
Oh my, how beautiful...while I write this, I look from our overnight spot at a lit skyline. This overnight spot was chosen by Freddy as he is the planner among us....I hold back my emotions and am moved to tears by his fantastically chosen spots. Just like this place right by the shore of the Gulf of Corinth. A dream come true.
The journey to this campsite was quite lovely, of course, it led a bit through Patras, and had I not taken the 2nd exit due to my inattention instead of the 1st, we would have arrived a little earlier. But this way, we got to see a bit of the city....that's something too. Upon arriving at the Drepano Beach campsite, I'm overwhelmed with a feeling of happiness and tears come to my eyes...you have never seen such a place and a subsequent gigantic sunset...amazing.
Now we will cook first, and then enjoy a relaxed end to the evening.
