Day 22: Onward journey to Saigon

As we started our onward journey around noon on this day, we packed our backpacks in the morning after breakfast. Afterwards, we were taken to the city by scooter, where we were then picked up by a taxi that took us to Da Nang airport. Our flight to Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon took off from there at 3:30 pm, unfortunately with a one-hour delay. In the airplane, we were served a complimentary lunch and after a flight time of about 1.5 hours, we arrived in the former capital in the evening. We took a public bus, which brought us almost to the doorstep of our hotel, all for just 80 cents. After a refreshing shower, we explored the surroundings and eventually found a great vegetarian restaurant. It was a bit difficult to communicate there, as the English skills were rather limited, probably because tourists were more of an exception in this area. But it was even cooler to be among the locals, and the food was definitely the best we had for such a low price. Both meals together with drinks for only €3.60! After that, we walked past endless bars and deafeningly loud party music on the backpacker mile until we reached the hotel again and fell into bed.
