On Thea's birthday, we went to Batangas to meet the family at Uncle Abe and Aunt Nita's. Uncle Abe is a great golfer (Philippine Senior Amateur Champion) and his trophy room is very impressive. Christian faith also plays an important role here, as you can see in the other photo. It was quite chaotic and a first challenge for me to memorize many new names and faces.
After a warm welcome, food, and exchanging gifts, we continued to Tagaytay, where we celebrated Thea's birthday in a large house. There was an incredible amount of Filipino food, most of it very delicious, but some were a bit 'challenging' 🤣... The highlight was definitely the Lechon, which is similar to German roasted pig but tastier in my opinion due to its special seasoning, including lots of garlic.
It was a very beautiful celebration with warmhearted and joyful people, including a few billiard games against Uncle and Brother, and of course karaoke... 😳...
The next day, after a hearty breakfast with leftovers from the previous day (and super delicious mangoes), we went to Hillcreek Garden Hotel, also located in Tagaytay. Princess, Thea's cousin and Uncle Abe's daughter, will be celebrating her wedding here the following day. We are currently facing a tight schedule of family celebrations... 🤣
