Yoga Week on Nusa Lembongan

已发表: 09.09.2018

After two days of diving with Lembongan Divers on Nusa Lembongan, we decided to stay longer. Seraina had the idea of trying out yoga "properly" and not just trying something completely overwhelmed for one morning (like in Ubud).

First, we looked for yoga retreats on the island, but the packages were all (in our opinion) expensive and included things like snorkeling trips, which we weren't looking for. So we rented a cheap but great bungalow at the Secret Garden and bought a weekly pass (unlimited hours) at Yoga Bliss.

From Saturday to Friday, we attended a yoga class every morning at 8 am (with two exceptions) and in the afternoon. Sometimes Morning Flow was on the program, then Vinyasa, Ashtanga inspired, or the more relaxing Yin style. We tried everything, attended the classes diligently, and - as far as our own bodies allowed - assumed the poses. Mathias certainly had a little more difficulty, as mobility is very limited in certain areas. Greetings to all the football injuries...

In addition to the yoga activities, we spent time in various cafes on the beach, explored the island and the neighboring island of Nusa Ceningan by scooter, enjoyed sunsets, or simply relaxed in the pool or on the veranda of our bungalow.

A warning at this point: at Devil's Tear, where the seawater wells up onto the cliff and fills so-called pools, you should enjoy the sunset at a safe distance and not in the front row. The big waves almost wash the first row of photographers back into the sea. That's why our first device (your phone) has died now - or rather, it is still (with minimal hope) in a drying coma in a rice sack...

On three evenings, we let ourselves be further educated in marine biology. The Marine Megafauna Foundation stationed on the island shows a documentary film every Sunday and hosts talks on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Yoga Shack at the Secret Garden - right on our doorstep, so to speak. We attended all three events and learned a lot about Leatherback turtles, Molas, and Manta Rays. We always find it exciting to learn new things during our journey and take advantage of such opportunities.

We spent the last evening of our almost two-week stay on Nusa Lembongan in a traditional Balinese massage and then watched a movie at the Jungut Batu Theater. There, you can watch a film daily on a cinema screen in a half-open room during dinner, with the film announced at the entrance door that day.

We will remember Nusa Lembongan very well - for absolutely cool dives, although tiring yoga classes, but all in all a relaxing time.

The only unpleasant aftertaste: apparently, one ATM was a bit corrupt, and three transactions were made with our Travelcash card that we did not make. Well - card blocked, a new one is on the way, and hopefully, we will get the money back (if Mastercard believes us) in a few weeks...

In addition to a few photos, there is a short video with some random impressions from Nusa Lembongan (without diving):
