Today, I went to Wharakiki Beach. This beach is located in the northeastern part of the South Island of New Zealand. The drive took a long time. Road conditions in New Zealand are not always optimal, which can turn a 100 km journey into a 3-hour drive.
The view there is incredible. It is definitely not a beach for swimming, as the current is very strong. Meter-high waves crash against the island's rocks. The main feature is a tunnel in one of these islands.
For me, it is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. There was not another soul in sight, except for me. I walked along the beach for 3 hours. Eventually, the landscape transformed. A mountainous landscape with cliffs hundreds of meters high.
This day trip was gigantic!
