Whakaputaina: 10.10.2018
Finally. Finally, I went to Milford Sound. Everyone, and I mean absolutely everyone I met on my journey, referred to this place as the most beautiful in New Zealand/the world. So, my expectations were pretty high.
Alright then. My alarm went off at 7 am. I got dressed, had breakfast, and left at 7:30 am. According to the GPS, it was a 120km, 2-hour journey. Soon enough, I lost reception.
But the journey to Milford Sound became more and more amazing. Almost 90° steep mountains and cliffs lined the drive. But there was no end to the mountains, they disappeared into the clouds.
With a slight delay, I arrived at the ship at 09:54, and the departure was at 09:55. Luckily, they were still there when I arrived. It was a small boat with maybe 10 passengers on board.
The journey lasted 2 hours. What you get to experience here cannot be described or captured in photos. It's unbelievable!
That's why I won't even try to describe it and won't even bother taking photos. This place is simply magical and mythical!
