After a pretty warm night (the fan is more useful in an acoustic sense) we wake up in our canopy bed and have breakfast on our 'veranda'. This time we even get watermelon with the obligatory omelette - amazing!
It's already relatively hot, so we go to the beach 30 meters away and take a few refreshing swims. The volcano, of which we could only see the foot yesterday, now offers a breathtaking view. We've probably never swum with such a view before.
Yesterday we had hardly any time to familiarize ourselves with the surroundings - that's what we're going to do now, so we quickly pack a few things and hike over the beach to the next bay. It's much busier there - we find a table in the shade and observe the snorkeling tourists while enjoying a fresh juice - there seems to be something to see here. Unfortunately, I idiotically forgot my swimming trunks, so we'll postpone the snorkeling trip to tomorrow.
We go back to our hostel, this time via the street - sandals and pebble beach sand are a pretty annoying combination and the black sand is too hot for bare feet.
After a light lunch snack, we spend the rest of the day at the beach, going into the water every now and then and enjoying the peace and quiet.
In general, we really like Amed. The narrow, green streets and the relaxed atmosphere create a pleasant flair. In addition, the region is touristically developed enough to be able to shop, withdraw money or plan your trip without any problems, but it is not as crowded as our previous destinations.
We end the evening with incredibly cheap and delicious food at our 'house restaurant'.
