After a six-hour drive on the freeway, we reached our destination on Thursday evening, a little aimlessly crossing the Oakland Bay Bridge, then the search for parking, an hour later sushi, then showers and bar hopping before the pubs close at 2am.
Friday followed the rehearsed procedure, city walk. E., who had lived in San Francisco for ten years, took me through parks, up to viewpoints, through Haight-Ashbury, the hippie district, where we spent some time in the famous Amoeba Music Store, and finally to Chinatown.
Then followed a short detour to our quarters, catching our breath and then meeting friends. The 'Prince of San Francisco', as a friend called him, is well connected. After the happy hour at Lookout, overlooking the Castro district, a nightcap followed at Beaux.
