Finally in Kuala Lumpur. Well, almost. From Port Klang where the AIDAbella is located, we had to take a bus for about 1.5 hours to the city. We decided to only book the transfer and explore Kuala Lumpur on our own, instead of going with a large group. On guided tours, there were sometimes up to 8 buses (with about 40 people each) roaming the city.
Our tour guide dropped us off in the 'Bukit Bintang' district. There are many shopping malls, bars, restaurants, etc. in that area.
Fortunately, Heike and Armin were also on the bus. We had met them on the Bangkok excursion and immediately got along. So we spontaneously joined forces and 'rented' a taxi for 200 ringgits. Our taxi driver, 'Tan', was at our disposal and drove us all over Kuala Lumpur. (200 ringgits is about 42 euros).
First, we went to the KL Tower, which is the TV tower in KL. The Petrona Twin Towers are closed on Mondays, and we happened to be there on a Monday ;-). From the Skydeck of the KL Tower, you can get a great view of the Petrona Twin Towers and the whole city.
After that, we went to the KL Butterfly Park where we observed the butterflies. Then we made a photo stop at the train station and at the King's Palace. Finally, a quick photo stop at the Petrona Twin Towers!
Since it was very hot that day, we decided to spend the last hour in a restaurant, enjoying good food and a cold beer.
The bus was punctually back at the meeting point at 16:30, and then we headed back to the ship.
We really liked Kuala Lumpur. It's a great metropolis where you could easily stay a few more days.
