Our last destination in Italy was the bell tower of the cathedral in Pisa. No longer a 'secret tip', the square seems to increasingly become a place of bizarre social behavior: Everyone strikes bizarre poses while (hopefully) their acquaintances or relatives search for perspectives for an ideal photo to prevent the tower from toppling over after over 800 years of existence... Apart from that, Pisa is a really beautiful city that presents itself in the typical Tuscan style in many squares and side streets. In a narrow alley, we found a tiny tavern where we were presented with good food in a rough-friendly atmosphere and could escape the cool shade wind a bit. Because even here, away from the power of the sun, it is clearly autumn *complain complain*.
We spent the night in Marina di Carrara, located on the northern coast, whose already empty beach we visited the next morning, sunbathing, before we then set off to leave Italy along the Bay of Genoa and reach France.
