After a long drive from Pisa to the French border, we arrived in Menton in the evening. This small picturesque town on the coast exudes a lot of French charm and we had a wonderful parking lot on the mountainside with a view of the sea. The weather did not disappoint us the next day, and so we were able to enjoy the Côte d'Azur in the most beautiful sunshine. In addition to a small city tour, we then continued to
Monaco (more on that in another post). Our next stop before Nice was Èze Village, an even smaller but even more beautiful village on the heights of the mountains of the Côte d'Azur. Here, in addition to winding medieval alleyways and cute little houses, there is a botanical garden from which you have a wonderful view of the sea. I (Anne) have been here a few years ago and can only recommend this dreamlike place over and over again - it is definitely one of my absolute favorite places in Europe! In addition to the botanical garden, there is also a perfume factory in Èze, Fragonard, where I found my perfume. Since there are always free tours of the production rooms here and my perfume was running out soon, we made a little stop here before continuing to Nice.
