Thongtapan Resort

Publié: 01.12.2018

A palm-fringed, bright white sandy beach and turquoise water await me at Thong Nai Pan. A steep hill separates it into the two sub-beaches Yai and Noi, bordered by small black rock formations at the ends. In the village behind the resorts, there are many small restaurants, some supermarkets, a cocktail bar, and a few stylish shops. Thong Nai Pan is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Phangan by many travelers. Although it is quite secluded, there are few backpacker accommodations at Thong Nai Pan Noi, but increasingly luxurious resorts. You can see many obviously well-off couples in their thirties and families with children of swimming age. The bay is really beautiful and I like it here, even though or especially because it is not a backpacker destination and I am just by myself. A hotel room is not for me, the resorts are way too expensive for my budget, and although I really like the bamboo bungalows, my skin is desperately in need of a break from the numerous mosquito attacks. By chance, I came across the perfect solution for me in another blog. For an amazing cheap price of 702 Baht (18.81 Euros), I managed to get a tasteful mosquito-free stone bungalow with stylish exposed concrete paired with dark wooden floors, beautiful simple wooden furniture, and indirect ceiling lighting at the Thongtapan Resort.

Due to my budget, I have to do without air conditioning and make do with a fan, but that's okay. I am overjoyed with the huge clean, fresh, and cozy bed just for myself. Here, I not only get towels but also two fresh sarongs in traditional Thai-Karo as beach towels every day. The bungalow is cleaned every other day and shampoo and shower gel are replenished. There is a kettle with coffee and tea for self-service, and two small bottles of water await me every day. I am also pleased with other amenities, such as a hot shower in a real bathroom, storage space for my clothes, and a second power outlet. This makes it much easier to charge my devices at night. The door is a floor-to-ceiling glass sliding door that leads to the small porch and then opens up the view of the green of the small hill.

I feel like I'm in paradise and I'm incredibly happy and content. Who says women are demanding? Haha.
