The last time in Indonesia.

26-29.01.2020

26.01 was relatively boring. I repaired my shoes once again with super glue. The last few months of use were clearly visible. Otherwise, caught up with the blog again.

The next day we flew back to Bali by plane. To my surprise, we took off ahead of schedule and landed 28 minutes early. Respect AirAsia! I met up with Max, the German guy I had met before in Bali and who had dislocated his shoulder. In the evening, we felt like having something different from Asian cuisine, so we actually went to Burger King. Somehow wrong, but it felt good. After that, we went out with others from the hostel.

In the afternoon, we set off to visit a few destinations. First, the 'Green Bowl Beach'. Many steps led down there. They were even worse going back up in this heat. Then we went to the Uluwatu Temple, which is hyped by everyone. I don't understand why. I didn't find it so spectacular. The last stop was Virgins Beach, where we took a short swim and then headed back home. For dinner, we went to the Greek restaurant. That was wonderful! Late in the evening, we went souvenir hunting.

On 29.01, I had to leave Indonesia. The flight went from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Yangon, Myanmar. The nearly seven-hour layover felt long, especially because there was also a delay. I thought it was only short flights, so I didn't need a jacket. I was wrong. I was freezing. But I had some things from Max that I was supposed to take back to Germany, so I borrowed a jacket from him.

The idea of withdrawing more money in Indonesia to exchange it in Myanmar was a big mistake. No one wanted to exchange this currency or only with a 30% discount. Hopefully, I can get rid of this money at a better rate in Thailand. I walked 10 minutes from the airport to the hostel and went to bed at 00:30.
