Excursion à l'Université de l'Iowa

Au quatrième jour de notre voyage riche en expériences, nous avons visité l'Université de l'Iowa. Nous avons exploré les bâtiments et passé la journée là-bas.

Ma journée a commencé à 7 heures chez ma famille d'accueil. Avant d'aller à l'école, j'ai pris mon petit déjeuner. Après cela, je me suis préparé pour l'école et sa maman m'a conduit là-bas. Dans notre lycée, nous nous sommes tous retrouvés dans la salle de langue allemande. Quand nous étions tous assis là, nous avons beaucoup discuté et ri ensemble. Nous avons également échangé sur ce que nous avions fait hier avec nos familles d'accueil. Avec un « paquet de chips sain », nous avons attendu d'être pris en charge par le bus qui nous a conduits à l'université à 9h30.

À 9h45, nous sommes assis dans le bus - un bus scolaire jaune typique.

45 minutes plus tard, nous sommes maintenant devant l'Université de l'Iowa. Ici, nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement.

Il y a eu une visite intéressante et nous avons regardé les bâtiments. C'était à couper le souffle, il y a tant d'options. Le bâtiment de sport m'a le plus fasciné, il était très grand et varié. Après la visite, nous sommes allés manger. Il y avait un énorme buffet avec de la pizza, des pâtes, des burgers, des wraps, un bar à yaourt et un bar à desserts. Nous étions tous plus que rassasiés.

Après le déjeuner, nous sommes allés voir un arbre sur le campus, qui est lié à Anne Frank. On nous a expliqué un peu son histoire.

Vers 13h30, nous avons commencé le voyage de retour vers Cedar Rapids. Après être revenus à l'école, nous nous sommes séparés. Certains de nos hôtes étaient encore en cours, les autres avaient terminé l'école.

Dans l'après-midi, chacun a fait quelque chose de différent avec son hôte et a terminé cette journée impressionnante.

L'Université de l'Iowa était très, très grande et variée. C'était intéressant de voir combien de possibilités on a là-bas.

Trip to the University of Iowa

On the fourth day of our eventful trip, we visited the University of Iowa. We viewed the buildings and spent the day there.

My day started at 7 o’clock at my host family home. Before going to school, I had breakfast. After that I got ready for school and her mom drove me there. In our high school we all found ourselves in the German room. When we were all sitting there, we talked a lot and laughed together. We also exchanged what we did yesterday with our host families. With a “healthy chip bag”, we waited to be picked up by the bus that took us to the university at 9:30 a.m.

9:45 a.m. we sit on the bus – a typical yellow school bus.

45 minutes later, we are now in front of the University of Iowa. Here we were received very warmly.

There was an interesting tour and we looked at the buildings. It was breathtaking, there are so many options. I was most fascinated by the sports building, it was very large and varied. After the tour we went to dinner. There was a huge buffet with pizza, pasta, burgers, wraps, yogurt bar and dessert bar. We were all so full.

After lunch we went to a tree on campus, which is connected to Anne Frank. There we were told something about their history.

Around 1:30 p.m. we started the return trip to Cedar Rapids. After we got back to school, we split up. Some of our hosts were still in school, the others had finished school.

In the afternoon everyone did something different with their host and ended the impressive day.

The University of Iowa was very large and diverse. It was interesting to see how many possibilities you have there.
