Hoi An is really beautiful and you can have a good time here. We would also have liked to spend a few more days in Da Nang. Yesterday we took a trip to Coconut Village on a scooter 🛵. This is the old fishing village, directly opposite the former harbor. Hoi An used to be the most important port city in all of Vietnam due to its good location on the Silk Road. Now it is purely a tourist attraction. The round boats are colorfully painted and karaoke is done for the Chinese outside the small canals. Crazy 🤪
We were also completely impressed by the Vietnamese cuisine and we ate delicious Banh Mi for lunch. Antonie Bourdaine was already in the small snack bar and they still cost 35k / 1.50 euros. We also tried White Rose and Fried Wonton at Central Market. The specialty is Cao Lau, a soup with thick egg noodles, salad and meat, which costs between 40k and 60k. And every grandma has her own recipe for it. A particularly sweet encounter with 3 older sisters who run a coffee stand on the edge of the old town. Salted Coffee… the very best coffee ever! And with a lot of fun.
Now we're looking forward to Cambodia and Siem Reap. Tomorrow at 4:30 a.m. we go to the temples of Ankor Wat for sunrise.
