Semaine magique à Font d'en Torres

Publié: 27.11.2017

Update 17.1.2018:

For the last days of our trip, we returned to Font d'en Torres. The new entries/photos are marked with 'NEW'.

The thing with the break

We have arrived at the break! We have been living in vacation mode for a long time, which is certainly not bad. We have filled our days with trips, there are plenty of opportunities here in Spain. At the same time, however, a void has crept in, after all, you want to be asked. Our children effortlessly throw themselves into everyday life and probably 'enjoy' the absence of their parents. I practically receive no requests from STI. Actually, everything is fine.

At this point, I would like to thank everyone who makes our break in Spain possible.

We have decided to face the void and have looked for a quiet environment. And we found a fantastic accommodation in a wonderful landscape in Font d'en Torres. The accommodation was not fantastic because it offered all the luxuries, but because the mix of infrastructure, location and staff was great. We have rarely experienced such fantastic hosts.

Breakfast on the terrace

We Swiss would probably call the location of Font d'en Torres an alp. Accordingly, the journey over unpaved roads was adventurous.

In a distance of 6 km lies the impressive village of Morella.

Excursions with Alberto

We did two hikes in the area of the accommodation with our host Alberto. Everything went according to plan on the first 'excursion'.

During the week, Alberto spontaneously offered us another 'excursion'. After about an hour, Alberto stopped, started laughing, and told us that he no longer knew where we were. It was so sympathetic that we couldn't be angry with him. After another hour, Alberto said that the most important thing is that we are all happy. He was right in principle, although my feet were already starting to hurt.

Trip to Fredes (NEW)
Alberto probably wanted to make up for his mishap and accompanied us on another hike. The view of the mountains, canyons, and the Mediterranean Sea was fantastic. We really enjoyed the time with Alberto.

Landscape and ....

The landscape in the wider area around Morella is very impressive. However, the farmers here have an even harder time due to the great dryness.

... Villages
The villages are scattered far apart. From Morella, it usually took us 30 - 40 minutes to reach the next larger village. Many of them are very worth seeing.

And so it continues
In Camarles (Catalonia), a Swiss couple lives on an olive finca. We want to offer our support for the daily work there for the next 2 weeks. I'm sure we can learn a lot there.
