Yesterday morning, we set off on our trek through the jungle with two guides. After about 5 minutes, we were both completely drenched in sweat, while the guides walked calmly beside us. But the effort was worth it. Sumatra is one of only two places in the world, alongside Borneo, where wild orangutans still exist. We were able to observe not only several females but also a young one and a male. Additionally, there were many other animal encounters. After six hours of ups and downs, some near falls in the mud, and a lot of delicious fruits, we arrived in the jungle camp by the river in the afternoon. There, we bathed our sweaty bodies in the river and were treated to a delicious meal. Then, at 9 o'clock, we happily collapsed into bed (or rather, on the mattress on the stone floor).
