This morning we woke up again under a radiant sun and after leisurely enjoying breakfast, we drove towards Tresticklans National Park. Yesterday, we mapped out a route of about 10 km to get a comprehensive overview of this natural beauty.
With an area of approximately 30 square kilometers, the park is one of the most pristine wilderness areas in Sweden. It is particularly known for its rugged landscape, expansive pine forests, and countless lakes and marshes that are characteristic of the Scandinavian wilderness.
The hike was quite challenging as we continuously had to climb over rocks and protruding roots of the many pine trees. Sometimes we walked through the forest, only to suddenly look up at a mountain ridge we had to climb again, and then stroll along one of the lakes. This is truly a park that ranks among our top 10 worldwide. You can feel that you are genuinely walking through the wilderness here, and human intervention in this park has been minimized.
The combination of rocky landscapes and lush greenery creates a breathtaking environment that immerses you in Sweden's wild nature. The forest floor is often covered with a thick layer of moss, giving the park an almost primeval atmosphere and providing a pleasant sensation as you walk on it. The absence of roads enhances the remote and unspoiled atmosphere of the park, and if you take a moment to sit quietly, you discover how serene it is here, and the feeling of solitude in nature overwhelms you.

Upon returning to the car, we had been on the road for about three hours, and despite it being only 21 °C, we were sweating. We wanted to visit another village after the hike, but due to time constraints, that was no longer possible. On the way, we stopped at a remnant of a type of bunker that the Norwegians had built during World War II to prevent the Germans from reaching Gothenburg via the west. These remnants are hidden behind a parking lot along the highway, and we had seen it mentioned in a small local tourist brochure.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we dined, and since no desserts are served with dinner as they have Fika in the afternoon, we made a quick stop at Burger King to grab a soft ice cream. Tomorrow, we continue our trip to the capital of Norway, where we will stay for two nights.
