Yesterday, Leon and I hiked to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe. After three long weeks spent at home with back pain, it was a real treat to get out and into nature again.
The hike was only 12 km long, but it was quite challenging. We followed the coast all the way, through steep valleys and across vast fields full of blooming shrubs and ground cover. At times, we walked on the mountain ridges and at times on the rocks right by the water. We were completely alone and got lost a couple of times... I'm very glad to be fit enough again to tackle demanding trails!
Today, we spent the day at the beach to recover from the hardships :-)
