Vientiane

Vientiane - how should one describe this city and its striking contrasts? Anja (https://vakantio.de/oneway2025/vientiane-geschichte-erfahren-das-heute-verstehen) has summarized our impressions so aptly that I would prefer not to add much more than images in this and the following posts. We cannot confirm that Vientiane is not worth a visit, as we have often heard.

Our first walk on Tuesday evening takes us into the twilight to the night market by the Mekong. We continue along the river, where hotels and well-kept restaurants are gradually replaced by bars in completely dilapidated buildings and outdoors. We end up at the pool table... something I haven't played in what feels like 40 years.
