Until now, we lived in the inland of Portugal and wanted to get to know the capital Lisbon. We found a contact for dogsitting. For two weeks, we took care of 3 cats and 4 dogs, and in return, we were allowed to live in a house near Lisbon. It took us 20 minutes to get to the city, and we saw many things. On Pola's birthday, we drove to the city for the first time and visited the Christmas market. A few days later, we met my godmother Kalina in the city and spent every day with her from then on. We visited the largest indoor aquarium in Europe, watched a show by Cirque de Soleil, crossed the Vasco da Gama Bridge, the longest bridge in Europe, and went to the oldest bookstore in the world “Livraria Bertrand” in the Chiado district.
We celebrated New Year's Eve there with Kalina and Ramona, who also joined us. In Portugal, you are not allowed to shoot fireworks on New Year's Eve, so it was quite calm the entire time; only at midnight were fireworks organized by the city set off.
