The sabbatical year has already passed, and we are spending the last weeks in Cortina d'Ampezzo, where we are visiting our family. Before this, we stayed two weeks in Belluno with my grandparents. Now, in Cortina, we are living in my aunt's apartment.
Cortina d'Ampezzo is a village in the Italian Dolomites, where the Winter Games took place in 2026 and 1956. About 5,000 residents live here, and up to 500,000 tourists visit during the summer and winter seasons. Cortina is located at an altitude of 1,224 meters, surrounded by mountains such as Nuvolau, 5 Torri, Lagazuoi, and Monte Cristallo. The Tofana is the highest mountain, standing at 3,244 meters. On Sunday morning at 4:00 AM, we watched the sunrise ☀️ from the Tofana. From the top, we could see the glacier of Marmolada and all the other surrounding mountains. It was very cold, but still amazing.
