Even the second day of diving was beautiful despite the clouds and wind! Back on land, I meet Laura at the BeachBar. We drive across the island to the tourist spot 'Kelingking Beach'. The ride there was amazing. We passed through many small villages, with more temples than houses and lots of jungle. When we arrived at the spot, we were surprised by monkeys. If you search for Nusa Penida on Google, you will definitely find many photos of it. You will probably find even more on Instagram. We were often pushed aside by the guides because the girls in their dresses and sandals wanted to take photos. We maneuvered through the tourists to the stairs and started the descent. Even going downhill, in the afternoon sun and clouds, it was very challenging. The steps were as high as 3 steps for us and there were some climbing passages. Finally, when we reached the bottom, we were looking forward to cooling off in the sea. However, it was so wavy that we didn't dare to go in. So we were even more excited about the way back up. I can't describe how terribly exhausting and how incredibly sweaty we were! When we reached the top, sweating less and with more air, I said to Laura, 'Haha, imagine if we left the scooter key down there.' Shortly after, I really panic and start searching for the key. But don't worry, it wasn't down on the beach, it was (now for the 3rd time) in the scooter compartment. Luckily, the people here are so nice and no one steals your scooter, even if it's standing there on the parking lot, lonely and abandoned, with the key in the ignition. As beautiful as the sunset was, the ride back was terrible. With sparse scooter light through the jungle, I think I had 4 million insects and flying bugs in my face. Yum....
