Southern Sweden Tour - Day 14
After it had been so quiet all around, we woke up at 9:30 AM and, of course, got off to a late start (11:30 AM).
We had actually planned to go to Vimmerby to 'Astrid Lindgren's World'. A theme park where you can meet childhood heroes like Pippi Longstocking, Michel in Lönneberga, and Ronja the Robber's Daughter. You can also visit the Cherry and Rose Valley, Junibacken, or Bullerby there.
Yes, we really wanted to go there. However, since it was rainy and stormy today, we made a spontaneous decision to change our plans. After all, Astrid Lindgren's world is an outdoor area. Maybe we will have a chance to stop by on our way home.
That's the beauty of having a camper. You are not tied to a specific location and always have your bed with you.
So we set off for Husqvarna. We plan to visit the Husqvarna Museum tomorrow. The museum offers 400 years of industrial history on 2,400 square meters. You have to get there early to see everything. And due to our late waking, we were a bit late today, as we still had to drive about 180 km from Fröseke to Husqvarna.
Since we are avoiding highways, we traveled through beautiful forests and past many lovely lakes, as well as through small villages. This is still the Sweden that you imagine in the inland areas.
We sometimes drove for kilometers without encountering another vehicle. On one hand, that’s great, but on the other hand, you don’t want to break down there.
In between, our camper signaled for Ad Blue. No problem, we have Google. However, it was only the third gas station that Google pointed us to that actually had Ad Blue.
Once we arrived, the parking spot we wanted to go to was already taken. Now we are parked a little further away, but it’s still really nice. In front of us, we look out over Lake Vättern (Sweden's second-largest lake) and out the back windows at boathouses.
We took a walk by the lake and there were indeed a few tough souls in the water. We don't know how cold the water was, but the outside temperature was 15° C at that time.
Around 6:00 PM, the sky cleared up again and the sun came out.

Das hätte mir auch passieren können, ohne Wecker werde ich nicht wach. Aber schließlich seid ihr ja in Urlaub und ihr sollt eure Reise genießen. LG Marlis
