Southern Sweden Tour - Day 12 and Day 13
On Day 12, we didn't travel at all, but spent the entire day at the campsite. After a lovely shared breakfast, our friends packed up and left around noon. We had arranged to meet here, as they were gradually finishing their vacation while we were still fully engaged. It had been a few lovely days.
Once they were gone, we first did some laundry and also cleaned our vehicle a bit more thoroughly inside than we usually do while on the go.
On Day 13, it was also our turn to leave Kalmar after breakfast and head towards Nybro.
Since the chances of seeing moose in the wild are not very high, as they are often shy, we visited the Glasrikets Moose Park in Nybro. There, we participated in a guided moose safari, which offered us an exciting opportunity to experience moose up close.
We were taken into the enclosure by tractor and wagon. The moose safari guide drove us into the beautiful, hilly moose enclosure, where we even got to feed the moose.
Their favorite food in summer is leaves and twigs from willows, hazels, oaks, and birches. An adult moose eats between 12 and 30 kg daily during the summer.
After visiting the moose park, we made our way to our next overnight spot. In Fröseke, we found a wonderful and affordable campsite directly by a lake.
We ended the day in the serene nature and slept heavenly.
