25. Day 29.1.25 Puerto Madryn

Puerto Madryn (Patagonia) sunny 25 degrees

Our nature adventure started at 9:30 AM. The drive initially took us through the barren steppe where we spotted some Guanacos (Picture 2). We continued to Puerto Piramides on the Valdes Peninsula to see the sea lions that gave birth to their young in November and are now raising them here for a year. After this unique spectacle, we went on to Caleta Valdes to see the manatees that are currently shedding; the brown winter coat is coming off and the black summer coat is becoming visible. Now we come to the highlight of our day, the penguins. Seeing these little guys in the wild is simply fantastic and indescribably beautiful. At 5:30 PM we arrive at the ship which departs again at 6:00 PM. Today we have a beautiful sea day. Tomorrow we will dock in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands where our next adventure begins.
