85. & 86. Day Hong Kong, China 17. & 18.02.2026

Arrival in the early morning in Hong Kong, China.
We dock at the new, massive Cruise Terminal, Kai Tak, located in Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong, covering 18,400m2 across 4 floors. Built on the site of the old airport in Kowloon.
The 7.5 million city, since July 1, 1997 a Chinese Special Administrative Region, is clear in the early morning but soon enveloped in fog.
200 of the approximately 260 islands that make up Hong Kong are uninhabited. This means that only about 25% of the land area is developable, leading to 7,500 inhabitants per km2 on the 1,100 km2. Logically, mainly in high-rise buildings (the tallest building has 108 floors).
Today, on 17.02.2026, is the first day of the Chinese New Year, under the sign of the (red) Horse, marking the beginning of spring.
The first day is characterized by poor visibility due to fog. Nevertheless, we make our way from Kowloon via an underwater tunnel to Hong Kong Island, with stops at the Star Ferry Pier in Central, Repulse Bay Beach with the 'Tin Hau Temple' (featuring statues of Tin Hau and Kwun Yum) dedicated to the sea goddess, the fishing village of Aberdeen situated among the skyscrapers, and to Victoria Peak without a view today.
The second day welcomes us with much friendlier weather, good visibility, and occasional sunshine. We head to Hong Kong Island with the following destinations: Hong Kong Park in Central, filled with greenery, flowers, and parklands, alongside the skyline of Hong Kong. Victoria Peak treats us today with clear views, as does Repulse Bay, one of the most expensive residential areas in the world. Finally, we explore Stanley Market.
