We are located in Puerto de las Luz, in the Bahia de las Isletas, in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands.
Gran Canaria, with 1500km2, is the 3rd largest island of the Canary Islands, with 900,000 inhabitants, of which 400,000 live in the capital, Las Palmas. The subtropical climate and the trade winds give the island a very dry south with 400ha of dunes and a very fertile north with intensive agriculture, resulting in the so-called 'eternal spring'.
Due to its strategic location, Gran Canaria was an early starting point for the great voyages of discovery and thus the origin of some developments in South America, such as architecture or agriculture.
We visit the north with deep ravines (Barrancos), green and fertile valleys.
The mountain village of Teror with the church 'Nuestra Senora del Pino', a major pilgrimage site.
Arucas, old town and basilica 'San Giovanni Battista', completely built from volcanic basalt.
Las Palmas with the sought-after northern beach by surfers and the auditorium of Alfredo Kraus, the famous tenor. The old town 'La Vegueta' with Placa Ana and the cathedral 'Santa Ana' with a view from the bell tower.
