Today, for once, I didn't start at the crack of dawn. The morning was still filled with appointments before I could finally take the train towards Pfäffikon ZH. And what can I say? Finally a starting point that is easily accessible by public transport. Sometimes my stages begin in villages that, while beautifully located, feel like they are only served by a post bus every three hours. This time, everything was pleasantly straightforward. The route was very clear. From Pfäffikon ZH railway station to Rapperswil (SG) it always goes south and often along bodies of water. Getting lost is almost impossible. That's how I like it. At 11:00, I had 25 km ahead of me. Quite manageable, as there were no steep inclines. The backpack was a bit heavier than usual since I planned to stay overnight twice. Also, I had my new, slightly oversized trail running shoes.
