Midsummer
We were invited by our future landlords to celebrate Midsummer in Sweden. A wonderful opportunity to experience how the Swedes live and to see if cohabitation could be possible....

On April 24, 2025, our journey to the Philippines will start. We will fly via Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Thailand for a little vacation. The Swedes will not arrive until July, which is why we will take our time.
It is planned to move out of the apartment in Vaterstetten by the end of March and live with my parents in Bad Staffelstein for a few weeks. Then we will deregister in Vaterstetten and fly from Munich.
We have now started sorting through and discarding things extensively. It takes some time to find takers for certain items like houseplants, the treadmill, and especially to find a new home for the gecko.
I didn't expect that so much stuff had accumulated. We've been to the recycling centers several times, and a trip to the recycling yard is still pending to dispose of the bulkier items.
The flower pots have already been mostly taken by neighbors from the area, and mugs and various beer steins are now gone too. My father was very happy about the inflatable canoe and has already taken a few rounds on the nearby lakes.
The houseplants have also already been promised and fortunately are all going away together to be set up at a school. There are several schools in Vaterstetten. The cellar has become quite empty now. The climbing gear and puzzle items are finding takers a bit slower, but little by little that will also decrease.
I am still waiting for feedback regarding the gecko. I contacted a caretaker for reptiles and birds from the local area, and she provided me with a contact. I hope it works out.
