After I had moved out of my apartment in Switzerland and given away my belongings, the second liberation strike proved to be quite laborious: On November 18, 2024, at 10:35 AM, the Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 took off from Zurich. The last time I flew this route, they still had an Airbus A 380, which had much more style, but never mind. Eleven and a half hours in economy class are not particularly refreshing in any type of airplane.
At least I managed to get an aisle seat at the emergency exit with unlimited legroom. (However, the flight attendants repeatedly stumbled over my outstretched feet at night.)
Butterflies at the Airport
A stay of several hours at Singapore's Changi Airport followed. Airports are not my favorite place to be, but Changi has a few surprises to offer. For instance, there is a humid and warm butterfly garden in Terminal 3, where thousands of these delicate creatures glide through the air or feast on laid-out pineapple slices. A small stream babbles over an artificial rock. The travelers are delighted.
