Waterfalls at the Airport

Published: 22.10.2026

Our departure time for our flight to Singapore is 2:45 AM, which is why we arrive very early at Changi Airport the evening before. The advantage is that we can take everything calmly. But first, we take the Skytrain to Terminal 1 to check in our large luggage. There are only a few passengers waiting at the Scoot counter, so we quickly get rid of our two large suitcases.

Then I make a mistake because I want to visit the exhibition for the new planned Terminal 5 at the airport. It should be set up on the arrival level of Terminal 3. However, I walk up and down the terminal and find no exhibition. Upon inquiring with the AI, it turns out that this exhibition has already been completed a long time ago.

So, we head to the next attraction, the Wonderfall in Terminal 2. We again take the Skytrain, which travels from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 directly through Jewel, the gigantic donut-shaped shopping center featuring the indoor waterfall surrounded by trees. We pass the Tower and head towards Jewel.

I record the passage on my smartphone as a video, which turns out much better than the photos taken during the ride. I will publish a video later on my YouTube channel and my bilibili channel.
But now we arrive at Terminal 2 and walk to the Wonderfall.
This is a gigantic projection of a waterfall, which appears very realistic due to the splashing of water on the door that passes through and the wooden side panels that look authentic. It is a 14-meter-high LED wall consisting of 892 seamlessly assembled LED segments that play a video of the waterfall. Occasionally, spiral elements also emerge from the waterfall.
Every half hour, the show 'Rhythms of Nature' is performed. The water flow is altered by large blocks.
And water whirlpools create different water shapes.
The door in the waterfall leads to an elevator area, and there is also an LED projection on the inside of the door.
We take the Skytrain back to Terminal 3 because there is the Kopitiam, a hawker center where we would like to take advantage of the large food offering one last time. The area has been remodeled and is now much larger, offering significantly more seating than during our last visit in 2024.
And although we have taken our time so far, there is still a lot of waiting time left, so we go to Jewel to admire the waterfall. I wait for Skytrain trains and take a few photos.
Of course, I also have to take a selfie.
The Rain Vortex is the tallest indoor waterfall in the world, standing at 40 meters, and the symmetry of the 'donut' has been slightly shifted so that the waterfall does not hit the Skytrain track. We go down and sit right by the waterfall, waiting for the 9 PM music show.
On time, after the sponsor presentation, the music begins, and various colored spotlights project light shows into the water of the waterfall.
Unfortunately, the airflow has changed, so we are graced with a light spray mist. However, we bravely hold our smartphones towards the waterfall to capture the light and music moments.
Towards the end of the show, something resembling a glowing tree is created in the water wall.
What a beautiful farewell from Singapore. An eventful vacation in China and Singapore comes to an end.

This was my 22nd blog post about this vacation in my Xiefuzi travel blog, and sadly it is also the last of its kind this year. In my already mentioned YouTube channel and bilibili channel, there will be a few videos from this vacation in the coming weeks (or months), depending on my available time.

And dear readers, you don't have to wait until next year for exciting blog posts from me, as I will continue to blog regularly in my Lion City Journal. In the coming days, I will share some experiences in my blog China : At Ease from my life in China, which I still want to add as topics.

Thank you very much to my loyal readership. You have almost propelled me into the Top 10 travel blogs on Vakantio this year (I ended up in 11th place), and we will meet again here: China : At Ease
