After strong waves and a jostled journey, I arrived with a 2-hour delay on the South Island in Picton. From there, I headed to Blenheim where I spent the night. The next afternoon, I continued to Kaikoura, where I only made a short stop and spent time with others at the campsite. Additionally, I got a “short haircut”.
The following day, we had a brief surf stop at “Gore Bay” before heading just short of Christchurch. There, I met Theo again, and we played Monopoly together with TJ, wrapping up the evening relaxed with a few rounds of darts.
Yesterday, I traveled past Christchurch to Lake Tekapo and further on to Lake Pukaki. A beautiful landscape with crystal-clear lakes and snow-covered mountains in the background. Simply breathtaking!
Today, I drove from Lake Pukaki to Lake Hawea without motor oil. Along rivers and through long mountain ranges just before Wanaka. On the way here, I made a quick stop at the impressive Clay Pinnacles, which have taken on fascinating shapes due to wind and weather. Now, I’m sitting by the lake, enjoying the view before I have sauerkraut with mashed potatoes and salad.
Tomorrow, I have work orientation before the day after tomorrow I head to the orchard again with 3 other guys, this time it’s cherry-picking.
