Day 11/29 - Knysna to Addo

Published: 26.01.2024

First we went from Knysna to Plettenberg Bay today to the great café we had already been to ☺️ We had a delicious late breakfast. Anni was able to feed the animals again and run around in the playground. There are two small shops on site. In one store there was a super nice saleswoman who completely captivated Anni with her little parrot on her shoulder. She showed her a baby bunny and we watched the parrot and the bunny cuddle 🐰🦜
After everyone was strengthened, we continued 🚗 We now still had 3 hours of driving ahead of us, which took a long time again. We drove through the Tsitsikamma National Park, which is incredibly beautiful 🌳🌺 The children had a great time. Things got a bit difficult around Port Elisabeth. Bad roads with lots of potholes and we simply selected the fastest route on Google Maps without checking the route beforehand. We just wanted to get there as quickly as possible, especially before it got dark. Then the cell phone battery was almost empty. We drove past a mile-long township and cemetery. We've never seen anything like this before. There were also so many people walking around on the street. That was the first time we felt a little uncomfortable. Driving was extremely difficult.
But then we arrived safely and had another brief shock because our reservation wasn't on the plan 🙈 But they found it after all and everything worked out really well.
Dinner made up for everything. The hotel's own restaurant is run by a cooking school and we had a delicious 3-course menu 🤤 Anni loved the two waitresses, helped them clear the tables and immediately disappeared into the kitchen with them 😂

Tomorrow we'll explore the Addo Elephant Park as a self-drive safari and see which animals we get in front of the lens 😌
