Yesterday we departed from Siglufjörður in Northern Iceland and traveled through the Highlands to the south. In very stormy winds and freezing cold, we explored beautiful landscapes, including a sandstorm and a geothermal field. We spent the night at a small campsite in the Highlands, alone with a direct view of a glacier tongue of Langjökull. This morning we went directly to the glacier. There, we were amazed by the large gathering of snowmobiles, clearly prepared for tourists. In the evening, we had to change our campsite due to swarms of mosquitoes.
