A shower, please!

The name 'Tumpak Sewu' aptly describes what we experienced yesterday. It truly felt like 'a thousand waterfalls' at this place. From Malang, we took a trip to this spectacular spot with a driver. Although we had to struggle through heavy traffic (which is on a completely different scale here than in Germany), it was definitely worth it.

From the parking lot, we first went steeply downhill, partly through the riverbed. It was quite challenging, but it was also a lot of fun. Once we arrived at the waterfall, it quickly became clear why we had packed change of clothes: Within a few minutes, we were completely soaked. But standing at the bottom of this massive waterfall was very impressive. However, it was sad to see trash scattered all around the area near the waterfall.

From the waterfall, we continued along the river to two stalactite caves, the 'Goa Tetes'. That was the real adventure of the whole trip. Here, we were almost alone and could climb up to the caves through the waterfall. It did take some willingness to take risks, but it was a blast. In the end, we had to climb back up a looooot of steps to return to the parking lot.
