Wolin on the Szczecin Lagoon
We had planned not to travel for Sunday, but to spend the day in one place. After all, it was a holiday, a weekend, and of course Sebb's birthday. Nearby, Ines had discovered a...

Today, we were finally supposed to head to the open sea. A campsite just beyond the dune was our destination. Unfortunately, we missed the turn to the planned site and quickly looked for a new one. An unfortunate decision, as it would soon prove. We had chosen a simple, private spot; someone was renting out the meadow behind their house along with access to sanitation facilities for a small fee. So far, so good.
When we arrived, the landlord was not there, but another guest gave us the phone number. We called, and the landlord said he was out shopping but would be back in fifteen minutes. We suspected nothing amiss and found ourselves a nice spot on the meadow... at least we tried, because after barely a hundred meters, Gary suddenly got stuck. Yes, it had rained a bit, but not so much that the entire ground could be soaked, could it? We tried to get free again, slowly, forwards, backwards, rocking out; nothing worked. When the owner arrived, Gary was stuck almost to the oil pan in the mud, and the rear wheels were sunk about 10 cm into the soft meadow. A very deep mud mess. It took two hours with a towing rope, shovel, wooden planks, a jack, and various other tools before Gary was finally free.
In the end, everyone was dissatisfied. We were unhappy because Gary looked the way he did after the mud bath, and the meadow owner was unhappy because his meadow had been plowed up and then he had to dig out the car as well. We agreed not to repeat the experiment and continued our journey to Mielno.
Here, we found the long-awaited parking spot, with everything that comes with it.
For dinner, we went to the fishing beach, where there was fresh Baltic herring for Ines and fish cutlets for Sebb.
